Third Single heads to Radio! "Girl With A Fishing Rod," is a perfect match for Kelly. Borchetta says it hit!
Kelly Parkes is releasing her new single NOTHING (Mike Willis, Gwen Sebastian, and Lisa Carver Publisher Big Tractor) to country radio. The feisty 23 year-old from rural Lancaster County, Penn., loves performing and cites Carrie Underwood as her favorite vocalist. Her recording session was produced by Darran Smith (Tim McGraw) and Lofton Creek Records chief Mike Borchetta.
Parkes also recently sang the national anthem live on the SPEED Channel for a NASCAR truck race. She will be heading out on an extensive fall and winter radio promotion tour soon and she is eager to perform for programmers.
I’m a ham, she says. I’ve always been a ham. I love what I do and I love that I get to do it…When I see someone on stage performing, I want to be the one up there performing.

August 2009 Producer Kim Copeland requests songs from Springbarrel for the Kelly Parkes Edge Records Project.

Kelly Parkes cuts the Springbarrel represented song from the Songs South Catalogue NOTHIN' GOOD NEVER HAPPENS AFTER MIDNIGHT penned by Songs South Writer Doug Bryson and Dave Dorn.


Feburary 2010 - Kelly Parkes met with Springbarrel to discuss the Springbarrel Star Prep Program.


March 2010 - Kelly Parkes signed with Springbarrel's Star Prep Program.


April 2010 - Kelly Parkes signed by EMC Nashville for Publicity under the direction of Diana Henderson.

Edge Records and Lofton Creek Combine Efforts

Edge Records artist Kelly Parkes has signed a promotion agreement with Lofton Creek Records for a full secondary promotion campaign to MusicRow and New Music Weekly stations on her debut single, “Nothin’ Good Ever Happens After Midnight.” Lofton Creek Records will be responsible for promoting the song to country radio on a national basis.
We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Kelly Parkes with the MusicRow and New Music Weekly panel, says Lofton Creek Records President, Mike Borchetta. “This will give her the jump start to what we at Lofton Creek feel will be the start of a very successful career.

The Pennsylvania-born Parkes moved to Nashville in 2008, began networking in the industry and worked the mandatory day job at night. Two years later, her determination and sacrifice paid off.
“In today’s world of American Idol and overnight stars, little girls grow up thinking that all you have to do is sing and you’ll be noticed, Parkes says. “Not true. To establish a career, it takes a lot of work, and the work continues.”

NOTHING GOOD EVER HAPPENS AFTER MIDNIGHT will be made available to radio on the June 7, CDX # 501.
